I went to watch (and photo) the Ironman Texas 2012 event which was in The Woodlands.  The Ironman triathlon is a 2.4 mile swim followed by a 112 mile bike ride followed by a marathon run (26.2 miles) back to back.  The top pros do it in about 8 hours.

So, I’m going to post a few pictures from this event.

The competition starts at sunrise.  Here, the competitors enter the water while a safety worker watches. Ooh, it’s going to be a long day.
