What do you do to get noticed? Is it a balancing act? This performer in Glasgow, Scotland grabs attention by risking catastrophe. Regular art won’t cut it. We’ve all seen/heard that. We want to be amazed!
We were enjoying a slow hike in the Scottish Highlands. The Winter sun had already set in the afternoon. The moon was rising over a hill top when we noticed some deer relaxing and watching over the valley. As I got a little closer, a big buck jumped to his feet, startled. So, I shot him (with my camera) and brought him home for you to see.
At the foot of the hill where Edinbugh Castle sits, is a fun little area called The Grassmarket. It’s home to lots of buildings from the 18th century and earlier. The Beehive Inn is a pub in the Grassmarket area serving standard Scottish pub food.
I had fun walking around at night after the rain with the light spilling out of the windows and reflecting off the cobblestones.
I often wish I could show pictures really big so you could see all the little parts of it. This time, I decided to blow up some parts of it so you can see…
The guy lighting a cigarette by the front door.
The people sitting inside chatting away the night.
And the guy gazing into the window perhaps wishing he could get out of the cold and have a warm meal.
Prominently perched on a hill towering over all of Edinburgh is a magnificent Castle. It has figured into many stories of military control of the region and is one of Scotland’s great landmarks. Today, it’s a great place to visit with regular tours throughout most days. As you can see, it’s even lit up at night.
